Our Mission

Atlanta Youth Ballet, founded by Georné Aucoin in October 2018, is an organization that strives to elevate the arts in metro Atlanta by offering performance and learning opportunities to exceptionally gifted dance students of all backgrounds. We aspire to do this by providing access to pre-professional ballet training, on par with top tier programs nationwide. This also includes in-depth exposure to resident faculty as well as guest artists from across the world, opportunity to engage with professional choreography, and the challenge of learning and executing full-length classical ballets. Additionally, AYB works to further emerge ourselves into the community by exposing the residents of metro Atlanta to various forms of dance. Our goal is to create opportunities for people to become more educated on the arts, specifically the dance industry, and how these forms can have a mutualistic benefit on our society.

Georné Aucoin, Artistic Director of Atlanta Youth Ballet, is also the founder of the award winning International City School of Ballet. She founded ICSB in 2004 with the strong desire to inspire all students to realize their fullest potential through the training, dedication, and passion that ballet demands. She believes that doing this will allow her students to confidently and independently pursue their dreams. Her students have qualified for prestigious international ballet competitions including the USA International Ballet Competition in Jackson, Prix de Lasaunne, Youth America Grand Prix World Finals, and the World Ballet Competition. Ms. Aucoin's dedication and passion to preparing students for success can be seen in the wide array of paths chosen, from Houston Ballet Soloist Mackenzie Richter to Miss America 2016 Betty Cantrell.
